WSE Video Competition

Make a video…Make a documentary, drama, mystery, comedy, musical video, animation, action film, whatever…you decide. Just make it about Engineering at Hopkins, 2 – 3 minutes long and suitable for all audiences (including prospective students). Get it to us by noon on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

Oh, and the contest is open to full-time undergrad and grad students in Engineering and Arts & Sciences—but the video has to be about engineering!

First, choose from one of these four themes

1) It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time
2) A Day in the Life
3) A New Discovery
4) How it Works.

 

You may ask…

“What’s in it for me?”

Fame and Prizes

1) In addition to the adulation of your peers, professors, family, and strangers who may view it, some videos may appear on the Whiting School and JHU websites, posted on YouTube, and used to promote Hopkins Engineering.

2) Also, there’s cash involved.

• 1st Place: $500
• 2nd Place: $300
• 3rd Place: $200
• People’s Choice Award: $200

 

“So how do I enter?”

You can submit a video...

• on your own
• you can enter as a team, or
• you can enroll in the Intersession Course, “Winning Techniques: The Engineering School Video Competition” (371.159) and submit the video you make in class.

“But, what if I don’t have a video camera?”

You can borrow all the video equipment you need (and learn how to use it) at JHU’s Digital Media Center, use your own camera if you have one, whatever works for you…
