Whiting School of Engineering Committee on Conflict of Interest

The Associate Dean for Research manages the Whiting School's Conflict Review Committee (CRC), which is dedicated to maintaining the School's high standards for research integrity and independent inquiry. Conflicts of interest may take a several forms, including those arising from a faculty member's commitment to an external organization (e.g., as a consultant) or when a faculty member has a financial interest relating to sponsored research and/or intellectual property. The University requires that all faculty members disclose any potential conflicts of interest. The CRC considers each such disclosure on an individual basis to ensure that the Whiting School retains its well-earned reputation for academic excellence and integrity.
