Graduate Policies: WSE Graduate Committee Responsibilities
- Recommendation to the Academic Council of all Whiting School requirements for graduate degrees (including M.A. and M.S.) other than the Ph.D. degree.
- Administration of approved policies and procedures for the award of degrees other than the Ph.D. degree.
- Recommendation to the Academic Council of changes in the existing program or approval of any new programs for WSE degrees other than the Ph.D. degree.
- Continuous review of the standards and procedures for the admission of graduate students.
- Policy formulation for selection and award of financial aid to graduate students.
- Assuring that administrative practices include an appropriate information system concerning graduate education in the Whiting School.
The WSE Graduate Committee oversees Whiting School academic policies and full-time degree conferral for the following degrees: Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Science in Engineering, and Master of Civil Engineering.
The Grad Committee also confers the following part-time programs in Engineering and Applied Science: Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Master of Materials Science and Engineering, Advanced Certificate for Post-Master's Study, and Certificate of Continuing Engineering Studies.
